Log Truck/Grapple Truck Operator (Class B Unrestricted)

Location of Work: Syracuse, NY

Compensation: Available Upon Successful Interview

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Skillfully operate a log loader truck; a hi-rail truck with hydraulic knuckle-boom loader attached
- Load/unload semi-trucks and railroad cars using knuckle boom grapple
- Segregate railroad materials using knuckle boom loader.
- Operate a cutting torch to prepare railroad materials such as railroad rail
- Perform preventative & general maintenance to all equipment
- 4-5 days per week, 40 hours per week is typical
- Must be able to take direction from immediate supervisor and implement plans accordingly
- Adherence to Company safety rules & regulations as well as working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations; FRA safety regulations and technical developments effecting workplace safety
- Accurate reporting of required data both verbal and written, some computer work is necessary requiring completion of Company forms submitted electronically

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL UNRESTRICTED driver’s license
- Must have a minimum of 2 years CDL drivers’ experience
- Knowledge of railroad operations; leadership, organization, good communication, good mathematical skills; and basic computer competency is a plus
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, bend at waist, twist upper body, walk, and/or otherwise move around uneven surfaces and on railroad ballast
- Able to climb up and down ladders on equipment
- Must be a safe worker
- Must have a great work ethic – Ability to learn, willing to take direction and receive feedback
- Must be a self-motivator with the ability to work without constant supervision, always on time
- Able to communicate in a professional manner by phone and in person with all levels of internal personnel and railroad customer contacts

Railroad Equipment Mechanic

Location of Work: Syracuse, NY

Compensation: Available Upon Successful Interview

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports all labor activity involved in maintaining a fleet of civil and railroad equipment
- Welding, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulic work on civil and railroad equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair of equipment as required
- Follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
- Ability to document and track maintenance work orders
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- CDL - Helpful, Not Necessary
- Must have experience with electrical, diesel mechanics, welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Must be able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Must have personal tools and steel toe boots for the job (safety vest, glasses, and hard hat provided)
- Knowledge of railroad equipment and ability to diagnose equipment-related problems is a plus
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Maintain a valid driver’s license (and endorsements as required per position if CDL)

Railroad Construction Laborer (Full Time, Seasonal)

Location of Work: Syracuse, NY

Compensation: Available Upon Successful Interview

Employee must be able to heavy lift. Most of the work is performed with machinery, shoveling (material distribution), and sledge hammering (railroad fasteners). Travel and own transportation is required. Work will be completed in all types of weather. Hours worked are typically four 10-hour days.
